Prior to her work in the United States, Mariam built extensive legal and project management experience in Georgia. She spent seven years at the Georgian Young Lawyers’ Association (GYLA) in Tbilisi, where she served as a Project Manager focusing on human rights, legal research, compliance monitoring, and civic engagement initiatives. She collaborated closely with international organizations such as the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the European Union (EU), and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
Before joining GYLA, Mariam worked for six years with World Vision International and participated in United Nations-funded media monitoring and research projects, particularly around election transparency and media freedom. Her early experience in international project environments strengthened her skills in research analysis, reporting, and advocacy.
Mariam’s extensive international experience enhances her ability to serve clients with professionalism, cultural sensitivity, and a strong commitment to justice. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Psychology from Tbilisi State University and is fluent in English and Georgian.
