Ana Abashidze is a passionate civil rights attorney and litigator with over 15 years of unwavering dedication to justice, human dignity, and equality - both in Georgia and the United States.
Licensed in the Republic of Georgia, Ana holds advanced law degrees, including an LL.M. in Trial Advocacy from Chicago-Kent College of Law, where she deepened her commitment to advocacy through the power of the courtroom.
In 2024, she joined the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office in Chicago as a law clerk, where she contributed to meaningful civil litigation and anti-discrimination efforts. As the founder and longtime Chairperson of the Partnership for Human Rights in Tbilisi, Ana led courageous legal battles that gave voice to marginalized communities and held institutions accountable. Her insight and compassion have guided her work with global organizations such as the UN, Council of Europe, UNICEF, and Amnesty International.
Driven by a lifelong belief in fairness and human resilience, Ana was nominated for the roles of Public Defender of Georgia and Non-Judge Member of the High Council of Justice, demonstrating her enduring leadership in democratic reform.
Now based in New York, Ana continues her mission as a legal clerk at Alina Kats Esq. PLLC, where she supports survivors of abuse and vulnerable immigrants through complex VAWA petitions and detained asylum cases. With empathy, precision, and a fierce sense of justice, she helps guide clients through some of the most difficult chapters of their lives, believing deeply that every story deserves to be heard, and every right fiercely protected.
